Anita Hartig at Bucharest National Opera, December 8
The National Bucharest Opera House lit up on Thursday evening for its 95th anniversary. The gala featured famous arias performed by prestigious Romanian lyric artists and which ended with a fireworks show in front of the Opera building.
The special guest of the anniversary gala was soprano Anita Hartig, back to Bucharest after a long time. She joined soloists Veronica Anusca, Mihaela Ispan, Maria Jinga, Madeleine Pascu, Ramona Paun, Mihaela Stanciu, Crina Zancu, Marius Bolos. With the participation of the Opera Choir. Ciprian Teodorascu conducted the orchestra.
The gala repertoire included arias from Faust by Charles Gounod, Carmen by Georges Bizet, La Boheme and Madama Butterfly by Giacomo Puccini. The show ended with the famous aria Brindisi from Giuseppe Verdi's La Traviata and the carol O, Wonderful Tidings!
